Castle in the Sky is a design I made by combining and blending an array of different stock images together and adding a painted like effect to the finished piece. I have always been deeply fascinated by other fantasy like worlds. One classic fantasy trope that I have always gravitated towards specifically is the idea of a land mass floating in the sky with a castle on top. Since the castle is floating high above the actual mainland ground, naturally you need some kind of transportation to get you up there, like a flying airship.

I have had the image in my head since I was a little kid. A number of years ago, I made my first iteration of a floating island that I liked, but it just did not capture the same magic that this version does. So, after a lot more experience under my belt, I tried to make the image again years after my first attempt. I believe I was finally able to fully articulate the vision I had stowed away in my head for all those years with this design. I feel it fully captures that wonder and magic that so much of us wish we could escape away too, if even for a little while.

It comes in your choice of semi-gloss which is a slightly thicker white poster paper, or metallic print, which adds an extra shine effect to the overall design and makes certain colors pop even more. Both options are great for framing with or without glass.
