The Mystical Caladrius is a poster design I made awhile ago and have tweaked throughout the years. My grandfather spent a lot of free time drawing, mainly animals, but sadly passed away in 2015. The artistic spark skipped a generation and was passed on to me and my sibling. Shortly after he passed, I had the immense urge to rummage through all of his old drawings. I found one of a bird flying (a dove if I remember correctly) and decided to use it as a base or reference for a new art piece. So I drew a new whimsical and magical bird using his drawing as a reference. I then scanned it, colored it, and added effects in Photoshop. It wasn't until sometime after I learned of a mystical white snow bird called a Caladrius from Roman legends. It is said that the Caladrius absorbs any illness and pain, both physical and emotional from those around it and flies off into the night to release and purge that sickness. I felt it was only fitting to call it a Caladrius because I felt as if it was a part of my grandfather taking away my sadness and grief from his passing.   I hope it can remove all of your strife away as well.
