Connecting with the Nature Elementals

A number of years ago I was hiking in Sedona Arizona with number of friends and they asked if they could move ahead of me and finish the hike in front of me. When I asked why, they said that there was a following of nature spirits in a parade behind me that was continuing to go, and they just wanted to be a head of that parade. This must be why I enjoy being in nature so much and why I connect with the spirits that protect and support nature. Those nature spirits also known as the Elemental are from one of the supporting kingdoms that support the planet and they also support us along our journey. Earth, Sun, Plants, Crystals, and Archangels are a few other kingdoms and I connect with members of those kingdoms to give insight and assist us along our spiritual journey. The Elementals are a special group.

The elements of earth, water, air, and fire, support the earth and the inhabitants of earth and are the building blocks of nature.

The task of Elementals and the Elemental kingdom is to look after the nature kingdom. Elementals (or Earth spirits) live among plants and animals. They are responsible for the therapeutic effects you feel when outdoors amongst nature, at the beach and sea, at lakes and rivers, in parks and nature reserves, national parks and open land.

They are known as ‘Elementals’ because they are made up of the ‘ethers’ and are ‘ethereal’ and therefore invisible to most of us.   Elemental spirits possess supernatural powers and are usually invisible to humans, living among the trees, rivers, plants, swamps, and mountains. They attach themselves to practically every natural thing.    Some consider them to be mythical or metaphysical suggesting they causing earthquakes, floods, wind storms, thunderstorms, and wildfires. However their purpose and responsibility are for creating, sustaining, and renewing life on Earth.

Elementals are not low vibrational frequency therefore they do not like the energies of the busy city. Notice when you are in a busy city, you feel the energy and the vibrations are lower and how everything seems to move at an accelerated pace which is not natural to nature. This pace does not feel relaxing or stress free. When you are away from the city, even a lush park within a city you will notice the energy has a higher vibration. It feels comfortable, relaxing, quiet, and peaceful. That is where you will find the Elementals, where they spend their time. It is here they work to protect and love Mother Earth.

Earth Elementals:   The type of gnome most frequently seen is the brownie, or elf, a mischievous and grotesque little creature from twelve to eighteen inches high, sometimes dressed in green or orange-brown. Most with wrinkles and signs of age, often with full, long white beards, and their figures are inclined to round with a healthy belly.  They are concerned with the products and treasures of the earth.   Being of the earth, Gnomes usually live in the soil, rocks, beneath the ground, and under the tree roots. You may find them scampering out of holes in the stumps of trees and sometimes they vanish by actually dissolving into the tree itself. You may see them watching from the bark of the trees, where their faces can be easily spotted if you are aware. This may be one of their more favorite hiding spots and they LOVE to be noticed within the tree bark. You may not spot them again in that same tree the next time on the trail, so photographs may be a great way to acknowledge and honor them. Gnomes will only help humans if they have been considerate of nature and treat it well.

Water Elementals: The water spirits are called undines or mermaids. Their purpose is to direct the flow and course of the waters of the planet, they live in coral caves, fountains, lakes, marshlands, rivers, seas, waterfalls, and underneath lily pads. They also care for plants both below and above the surface of the water. They are beautiful and graceful Nature Spirits who appear in greenish blue attire that glistens, is very shimmering and often has a watery texture.  They closely resemble humans in appearance and size, except for those inhabiting smaller streams and ponds. They are aware of the movements of water and how they relate to human emotions and soul responses.   Water sprites are friendly and are very willing to work with people and to help them. Etheric in nature, they exist within the water itself and this is why they can’t be seen with the normal physical eye. As a young girl I would go night fishing with my dad and would watch them play in the full moon light on the lake.

Fire Elementals: Salamanders. When I was very young we lived for a short time in a farmhouse that had a dirt floor root cellar.   My mother would send me there for things she’d preserved, and I’d usually catch a real salamander peering from one of the corners of the cellar and I’d run as fast as I could up the stairs.   After 40+ years of not seeing one I recently had one cross my path on a bike trail and I wondered at the creature that I’d only experienced as a child and within the sparks of a fire. The salamanders are the spirit of fire. They can be seen in the shape of fiery balls, or tongues of fire, or the sparks that rise from a campfire. They keep us warm and work through the liver, bloodstream and our deep emotions. Without these beings, fire cannot exist. You cannot light a match without the salamander energy being present. They are considered the strongest and most powerful of all the elementals. Salamanders will always help people who are friendly towards them and keep their heart fires burning.    I do however see them often in the fire sparks we have in our fireplace.

Air Elementals: The sylphs are the air spirits, air angels or fairies.   Their element has the highest vibratory rate. They are said to live on the tops of mountains, but I have seen them in forests, along streams and in magical moss rich areas. They are said to be the most beautiful of all the elementals.    You know you have entered one of their communities or forests when you see and feel the magic of the area.

They are said to leave beautiful green rings in meadows and fields by bending the dewy grass done while they have danced in circles.  One of their functions is to help humans receive inspiration, so they are drawn to those who use their minds, particularly those on creative arts. A walk in a fairy forest will bring peace, clearing of foggy thoughts and creative inspiration.

When you spend time in nature, notice how you feel , where your eyes are drawn or where there might be movement you notice out of the corner of your eye. Nature elementals are there, they are curious and they’d like us to connect more with them. They are proud of the work they do, and like when we notice this work too.
